Let’s dive into the details without further ado.

Use These 5 Strategies to Explode Your Search Traffic In 2019

1. Keyword selection is the key

Picking the RIGHT keywords to target is the key to getting more targeted visitors from search engines like Google. It doesn’t matter what niche you are in, if you really want more organic traffic, pick keywords with less competition.

Here’s where long-tail keywords come into play. Why target long-tail keywords?

Even if you’re running a new blog or website, you can still get into the first page of Google search results if you target long-tail keywords. That’s the beauty of long-tail SEO. Have a look at the following illustration.

As you can see above, long-tail keywords produce the highest conversion rates and they are also accountable for over 70% of the searches on Google. That’s why you need to focus on finding low competitive long-tail keywords.

For conducting keyword research, ask yourself, “If I wanted to buy or find more information about a particular product or service, what would I type into Google search?”

There go. I just shared the top-secret to find long-tail keyword selection ideas. Think like a customer. Think like a user. That’s how you come up with powerful keyword ideas and topics that actually generate high-quality visitors from search.

The key here is to get access to the right SEO tools so you can easily find excellent keyword ideas for your blog.

That being said, below is the list of couple of incredible tools that we’ve been using for a long time now which are definitely worth giving a try.

  • SEMrush: This is the ONLY SEO tool that we’ve been using for more than 3 years now and it’s the complete SEO toolkit which is worth every single penny. You can do everything from keyword research to competitor analysis, backlink audits, website audits and so on.
  • Ubersuggest: If you’re looking for a free keyword research tool that’s effective, Ubersuggest is just for you. Although it doesn’t provide as extensive data as tools like SEMrush it is a great tool for beginners.
  • Long Tail Pro: This tool is exclusively made for finding profitable long-tail keywords which is also used by over 70,000 marketers all around the world including smart affiliate marketers like Pat Flynn.

2. Create 10x content for 10x results

Not all bloggers are writers. It takes a lot of practice to create persuasive content. If you want to drive more traffic from Google, you need to create 10x content.

10x content is all about creating;

  • Content that is 10 times better than your competitors (or top 10 search results)
  • Visually appealing
  • Includes lots of practical tips and techniques
  • Usually backed by data

Here are some of the practical tips to create 10x content that actually generates your results.

Create a detailed outline: One of the most effective tips to write great content is to spend quality time in creating a detailed outline for your blog posts. Collect all the references, create subheadings, gather all the data including images and illustrations to make your content both visually appealing and authoritative.

Do competitor analysis: To create traffic-generating content, you must analyze your competitor sites to find out how they are creating their content. It gives you an idea about what’s actually converting and helping them to get more search traffic. It also helps you cover all the missing points or data to make your content 10 times better.

Create in-depth articles: Whether you know it or not, detailed content ranks well in search engines like Google. Articles with over 2000 words always perform well and they also attract a ton of social shares. It also builds credibility and you can position yourself as an expert in your niche by often creating long-form articles.

3. Don’t ignore optimization

Most bloggers often ignore on-page optimization. Either they don’t optimize at all or they overdo it. Both are wrong.

On-page optimization is the process of optimizing your blog posts for your target keywords.

By properly optimizing your content for your desired keywords, you can dramatically improve your chances of getting more visitors from search engines.

Here are a few quick optimization tips to properly optimize your keywords for Google.

  • Include your primary keyword in your title tag. Make sure it’s properly optimized because the title tag is one of the most important on-page SEO factors that can determine your organic click-through rate.
  • Create compelling meta descriptions as they help you optimize your content for LSI keywords. You don’t have to necessarily insert your primary keywords within your meta description as using an LSI keyword makes much more sense.
  • Use alt tags within your images as image optimization is often ignored. You can get a ton of traffic from Google image search if your images are properly optimized for your target keywords.

Apart from the above, make sure to sprinkle your primary and LSI keywords in the following places to properly optimize your content.

  • Subheadings like h2, h3
  • At the introduction and/or at the conclusion
  • URL (it should be short and sweet)

A quick tip: If you’re using WordPress, there’s an exceptional optimization plugin called Rank Math which helps you easily optimize your blog posts for your desired keywords. You can also check out the review of Rank Math Vs Yoast SEO to find out the differences.

4. Improve your site speed

Website speed is the most important factor that can make or break your website’s success.

Google rewards faster sites. Searchers love faster loading websites. Everyone hates slower websites. So make sure your site speed is faster.

Find out your site speed. You can use a free tool from Google called PageSpeed Insights which analyzes the content of a web page and also suggests you how to make your pages load faster.

Here’s how it looks like;

As you can see above, it will give you a score out of 100, the highest being the best.

That being said, you can also use tools like GTmetrix, Pingdom tools, Web Page Test etc (most of them are completely free to use) to easily find out your site’s speed and performance.

If your site is taking more than 2 or 3 seconds to load, you should put 100% efforts to improve your page loading times and here are some tips to help you with that.

Move to a better and faster web host: One of the biggest reasons most websites are fast because they use faster web hosting services such as managed hosting, cloud hosting, dedicated hosting, etc.

Yes, there are so many web hosts that are free but if you’re really looking to have a faster site, instead of using shared hosting, invest some money into a better web host like WPX hosting, WP Engine and so on.

Enable caching: Page caching is all about improving your page performance by minifying sources like browser caching, reducing bandwidth usage and so on. You can use plugins like WP Rocket, W3 total cache etc to easily enable page caching on your site. Also, lazy load images if you are using a ton of images within your blog posts for faster page loading times.

Optimize everything: From databases to spam comments to caching, you need to regularly optimize everything on your WordPress sites for faster website performance. Fortunately, there are a ton of plugins available that help you easily optimize your databases, comments, stale data, etc.

Above all, make sure to shrink your image sizes before you even upload them on to your WordPress dashboard. Or you can simply use image optimization plugins like WP Smush It to easily shrink your image sizes.

5. Building links to your content is essential

Hands down, link building is the fastest way to grow your overall search engine traffic. Search engines like Google give huge value to quality backlinks. The more links you get from various domains, the better it is for you to increase your site’s authority and backlink profile.

Here are some of the best link building strategies to drive more traffic from Google.

Build relationships with other bloggers: What do most smart bloggers do to get links? They build relationships instead of sending email pitches to other bloggers for link building. Building relationships with other bloggers not only helps you with links but you will learn more, share more and earn more.

That being said, don’t network with other bloggers just for the sake of building links. Do it because you’re really interested in interacting with them. Engage with other bloggers through social media sites like Facebook groups, emails, blog comments etc as it helps you in the long run.

Guest posting is evergreen: Guest posting is literally the only link building strategy that all kinds of bloggers are using to build quality links. If done right, guest posting can be used for building strong relationships with other bloggers apart from building links.

Make sure to spend quality time to craft your guest posts as you should focus on increasing your online credibility with guest blogging instead of doing it just for the sake of links. Also, promote your guest posts as much as you can to increase their exposure. Reply to people who leave comments on your guest posts as it’s a great gesture.

Create massive link-worthy guides: There’s a reason why SEO experts like Brian Dean from Backlinko create huge guides on particular topics. They know the value of creating such massive guides because they attract backlinks like anything.

So if you’re looking for a proven way to get quality links from other sites in your niche, find an evergreen topic, create a one-stop guide, use appealing images and make it an ultimate link-worthy guide. Promote it like crazy using blogger outreach, social media, paid ads etc to reach more people.

Conclusion

Yes, Google is making a ton of changes every now and then. That’s the reason why most blogs and websites are struggling to get more visitors from Google. But if you follow the right SEO strategies, you’ll definitely get long-lasting and high-quality traffic to your sites.

  2. Hi, Anil!

SEO keeps changing, BUT basics will NEVER change. The ultimate recipe for SEO rankings according to my knowledge is – Intelligent keyword selection, Awesome content(10x better than existing), Well optimization of the content (which really becomes easy with plugins, like Yoast, RankMath, etc), technical SEO(page speed, mostly depends on hosting – good hosting=good website speed), and relevant backlinks(no need to build many if the content is really amazing).

The above is what I believe and you just nailed it through this post.

Looking forward to more informative blogs from you.
